However, if you are familiar with the off-duty looks of supermodels, you’ll know that leggings are a must. And when worn right, they can become a stylish item to have in your wardrobe. But there is a wrong wear to wear leggings, too. Here’s five items to avoid to keep you looking fresh.
Denim Shorts
It takes a real pro to be able to tuck leather leggings under skin-tight denim shorts and manage to walk. Think runway models. Still, for us mere mortals, we should bear in mind that one bottom half is enough if you don’t want to be gawked at when going about your business.
If you want some coverage, step back from your Daisy Dukes and invest in a long sweater to skin over your leggings neatly.
Shearling Boots
Some people can get away with wearing their leggings with crop tops and Ugg boots, but they are usually rich and a good-looking celebrity. Sadly, for the rest of us ordinary people, we would look like we’ve stepped out of the Tardis into the early noughties. Not a good look.

Blame the weather for people wearing leggings under their dresses. And we get it. You want to get one last wear out of your favourite summer dress before the cold weather sets in, so you reach for your trusty leggings.

This should be a no-brainer for everyone. However, it can be hard to throw away your old, comfy jersey leggings when they have been so faithful and easy to wear.
But the truth is that the older the fabric, the less likely it is to do your bum and tummy any favours. If you are feeling particularly adventurous when it comes to buying a new pair, go for red and leather – very A/W 18.
